Wood Wood X Adidas

Wood Wood has announced sketchy details about an upcoming collaboration with Adidas on their blog

Not sure what I think about this- Wood Wood seems to be spreading themselves pretty thin with all of their collaborations- sort of makes you start to wonder if they are able to do anything independently?…

Chloe Sevigny & Opening Ceremony Collab

Former model-turned-actress-turned “designer” has wrapped up her collection with US retail giant Opening Ceremony.  Most of what I have seen about the collection is fairly tepid in terms of its reception; Sevigny was going for a unisex style with the strangely cut pants etc.  I cannot see these being very popular- they are too trendy and seem to violate the very essence of the plaid and hipster genre by which she has been embraced- they just look cheesy.

Death Spray Custom X Monocle Bike Frame

Monocle, the magazine that makes one look smarter by owning it (even though chances are nobody actually reads it) has released yet another collaborative product with Death Spray Custom. This road bike frame is pretty basic steel with a strage very square-like geometry and some basic Monocle branding on the headtube and toptube. No word yet on the availability of the frame.

While I am a big fan of suitable brand collaborations, I just find it difficult to justify this one. While having never read much about track bikes, road bikes, or fixies in Monocle, it seems that they may be stretching their “reach” a bit too far with this one- my advice, stick to Porter bags.

Baccarat X Chrome Hearts for “Luxury Rock/Rebels”? Give me a break

Baccarat and Chrome Hearts (the cheesy Las Vegas-style sword and heart adorned jewelry) have announced a collaboration on some crystal pieces sure to spice up any “luxury rockers´” homes.   While we respect Baccarat for their tradition and 250 year heritage, we are not sure if Chrome Hearts is the right vehicle to break into new markets.

One of RR´s favorite retailers, Japan-based Uniqlo has partnered with Opening Ceremony, on the latest of their guest designer projects and will be releasing at the Los Angeles store today. Following the success of its New York release, the pieces, retailing between $19 to $79, provide an affordable alternative to designer garments with the same design aesthetic still reflective through each piece.

H&M x Comme des Garcons Opening: Tokyo

It is official, the H&M and Comme des Garcons collaboration is on sale (in Tokyo). As expected, the turnout for the opening was huge (see pictures, from Hypebeast).

Is this just further proof that the collaboration bandwagon will never die, or is this more a product of a really great collaboration. I do not remember other H&M collabs receiving as much exposure or hype before, but I may be wrong.

Will be curious how the rest of the world reacts to the launch of this line on Thursday of this week.
