A pioneer, not only in fashion, but in retail concepts has just unveiled her latest project- the Comme des Garcons and Louis Vuitton popup shop in Tokyo.

Rei is known for having developed the concept of a popup shop as she has opened a number of “guerilla” CdG shops around the world in cities like Berlin and London, and Los Angeles. From her inspiration, these types of temporary shops, often housed in derelict buildings or shipping containters, have become more and more common for a variety of brands. What makes Kawakubo so exciting is the number of collaborative projects that she is partnering with and the variety: from Fred Perry, to H&M, to Louis Vuitton. Below are some pictures of the new shop that is located in a small faux brick structure in the trendy Aoyama district. According to WWD, “the interiors are true to Comme des Garçons’ spare aesthetic, with gray concrete walls and an exposed metal staircase.” Also I have included images of CdG´s popup shops in Warsaw and Berlin.
