The NYT The Moment blog recently posted 5 new independent shops in the US that are making waves. Being in Berlin, it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the latest interesting retail concepts (other than through the Internet), so it is nice to get periodic updates specifically about these types of shops and not necessarily the latest big box retailer on 5th Ave. These are all women’s shops, so personally I am not so interested in what they are selling, but rather the rise in exposure to their category of shop.
